SoundBite Communications Appoints Seasoned Executive to Board of Directors
Regina Sommer Joins the SoundBite Board of Directors Bringing Proven Leadership and Business Acumen in High Technology and Finance Industries
BURLINGTON, Mass. – January 22, 2007 – SoundBite Communications Inc., a leading provider of hosted, automated customer contact solutions, today announced the appointment of Regina Sommer to the SoundBite Board of Directors. A seasoned business executive, Ms. Sommer brings 25 years of diverse industry experience in high technology, professional services and public accounting, as well as a proven ability to successfully manage business operations through rapidly changing corporate cycles.
Most recently, Ms. Sommer served as Chief Financial Officer for Netegrity, Inc., (NASDAQ: NETE) a provider of enterprise security software. There, she directed the company’s financial turnaround, returning it to double-digit revenue growth, profitability and positive cash flow. She also led the early implementation of the principal requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Prior to Netegrity, Ms. Sommer was Chief Financial Officer for Revenio, Inc., a privately-held CRM company, and Open Market, Inc., a leading provider of Internet commerce software. She joined both companies at the startup stage and directed numerous debt and equity financings, including an initial public offering for Open Market in 1996, as well as merger and acquisition transactions. Ms. Sommer began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1980.
Ms. Sommer also serves on the Board of Directors of Wright Express Corporation, (NYSE: WXS) a leading provider in the financial services industry of payment processing and information management services to the U.S. commercial and government vehicle fleet industry. She is a certified public accountant and member of the Financial Executives Institute, the AICPA, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Women Corporate Directors and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Ms. Sommer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics / Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.
