Director/VP of Product Marketing
The Director of Product Marketing will lead the collective effort to establish and implement our product roadmap to enable the success of SoundBite’s strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CTO and CMO, both of whom co-chair the Product Steering Committee (PSC), to implement the end-to-end product process.
- Provide the operational leadership for the PSC. This includes working with co-Chairs to establish agenda, develop materials, and coordinate participation of stakeholders to enable PSC to make excellent, timely Product Roadmap decisions.
- Take high level product direction from the PSC. Lead the effort to perform “business case” analyses to help PSC make product direction decisions. Business Case analysis includes:
- Defining the product opportunity
- Performing cost-benefit analysis
- Assessing if SoundBite is well positioned to win
- Establishing Critical Success Factors for SoundBite to win - Work with Product Stakeholders (Sales, Client Management, Customers, Operations, Market Development, Business Development, Channel Partners…) to ensure each stakeholder has a prioritized, sized Product Request List (PRL)
- Provide necessary materials to Product Steering Committee (PRLs, Business Case Analyses, engineering resource estimates, product synergies…) to enable them to establish the Product Roadmap.
- Drive our full product process to be market and customer facing.
- Drive the MRD and PRD creation process – ensuring that requirements are driven by well understood market and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to establish and execute external Product & Offer Launch initiatives - e.g. positioning and messaging, pricing, competitive assessment, awareness creation, demand generation, partnering and sales channel recommendations…
- Collaborate closely with Product Management on internal launch/execution of Product Roadmap and assessing new Product initiatives.
- Establish SoundBite as a thought leader – through speaking engagements, White Papers, and being a “sought after” company spokesperson (press & analysts…)
Requirements
- 5-10+ years leading the product process, including product marketing, product management and program management.
- Strong understanding of contact center/customer communication market.
- Understanding of the software as a service (SaaS) business model
- A passion for being market facing and driving the organization to be the same
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Can serve well as spokesperson
- Must be highly collaborative
- Ability to develop strong “partnership” relationships with the executive team
- Ability to manage directly and cross-functionally
- Proven change agent
- Develops strong processes that are easily repeatableBS Degree – preferably in a technical discipline
- MBA preferred
