On-Demand Automated Voice Messaging

The Director of Market Development will lead SoundBite’s efforts into specific vertical (e.g. Financial Services, Telecommunications) or application (e.g. Loyalty, Notifications…) markets.  1 of the roles will definitely be focused on Financial Services.  We are determining the focus of the other role.    

  • Responsibilities
    Assess the defined market opportunity and establish a strategy to dominate that marketplace.
  • Establish a cross-functional Business Plan that establishes what we week to accomplish and how we will do so.  This plan will need to be developed in conjunction with functional leadership across the organization with the appropriate buy-in. 
  • Drive the attainment of the goals described in the business plan.  This will require working cross-functionally to ensure execution of the business plan.
  • Establish processes to measure the success of our efforts and to make adjustments to plan/strategies/tactics as needed. 
  • Establish a clear set of prioritized product requirements for success in the targeted market.  Communicate this to the Product Steering Committee and collaborate with Product Marketing & Management to assess opportunity in context to other opportunities.  Where appropriate, support creation of MRDs. 
  • Determine the “total solution” required by our target market.  Identify and implement partnerships, in concert with Business Development, to ensure we can deliver the required total solution of our target market.
  • Support/team with the sales force to ensure they have a prioritized set of target accounts, a clear set of applications and value propositions, knowledge of whom to be calling into, the required set of sales tools and collateral and support their efforts to qualify and close business.  This also includes how to sell vs. competition in the targeted market.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to establish appropriate awareness creation (prospects, customers, analysts, press, partners…) and demand generation activities (prospects and customers)
  • Establish SoundBite as a thought leader – through speaking engagements, White Papers, and being a “sought after” company spokesperson (press & analysts…)

Requirements

  • 10+ years is strategic marketing, sales and business development functions. 
  • Financial Services market will be one of top targets – so deep understanding of this market is a requirement for 1 of the 2 roles we will fill.
  • Understanding of contact center/customer communication market.
  • Understanding of the software as a service (SaaS) business model
  • A passion for being market facing and driving the organization to be the same
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.  Can serve well as spokesperson
    Must be highly collaborative
  • Ability to develop strong “partnership” relationships with the executive team
  • Ability to lead and influence a cross-functionally
  • Proven change agent
  • Develops strong processes that are easily repeatable
  • BS Degree, MBA preferred
