Financial institutions are shooting out more alerts to consumers, reports SoundBite Communications.
“The biggest growth is the financial space,” Alan Berrey, vice president of market development, text and mobile messaging, says.
And the multi-channel communications provider wants to enhance the capabilities of these alerts.
“SoundBite has been strong in voice communication,” says Berrey. “In the last year or so, we are getting more involved with data. All things data are on the table. Account alerts will evolve into payment authorizations.”
If a consumer wants to connect with a bank now, he or she calls an 800 number, navigates through a decision tree, possibly gets a cure or waits on hold, Berrey says. In the future, he says a consumer could submit a question via text and receive a text back with an answer.
