Director/Manager, Business Development and New Markets
Job Summary:
The person who fills this roll will be responsible for the growth of voice, text, and email messaging programs across SoundBite. He/she will contribute to the direction of future products and services by identifying new market opportunities for SoundBite’s Intelligent Communications Platform. He/she will also be responsible for the development of business plans/use cases, marketing materials, sales initiatives, promotions, webinars, and more, for promoting new and existing solutions in the identified markets. He/she will also be a key contributor directly to the definition and implementation of solutions inside SoundBite.
This person will enjoy the success that comes with ensuring that SoundBite proactively identifies and approaches new opportunities quickly and effectively. In addition, he/she will ensure that SoundBite delivers comprehensive solutions to our clients as agreed. He/she will ensure that SoundBite continues to develop solutions that meet the future needs of the identified target markets.
Key Functions/Responsbilities:
New Market Development
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for SoundBite services.
- Evaluate new markets and determine business justification for market entry.
- Identify prospective partners for strategic engagement.
- Identify and evaluate competitive landscape.
- Provide creative concepts and plans for new market opportunities, such as:
- Retail text alerts or loyalty programs
- Social network tools (MySpace, Facebook, etc.)
- Coupons and prepaid card utilities
- Text chat for customer contact centers, etc.
Marketing Development
- Contribute to the development of sales materials and marketing programs.
- Coordinate targeted marketing programs to address the needs of targeted client segments
Product Definition
- Coordinate with product planning to define and prioritize mobile messaging solutions
- Work with engineering to ensure client needs are met and messaging volumes are supported.
- Communicate the features of new products to the sales team as well as to clients.
- Contribute to IP protection and patent applications.
Provide Technical Sales Support
- Provide technical expertise on text, voice, and email messaging solutions.
- Answer client questions regarding solutions.
- Provide pre-sell support to SoundBite’s 20+ sales representatives across the USA.
- Coordinate sales and client management activities to address new markets.
- Work with the clients to define and implement programs which are compliant with CTIA and mobile industry standards.
- Establish plans for maximizing text message revenue at new and existing accounts.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:- 2+ years experience with mobile messaging solutions
- 5+ years experience in sales or technical sales support
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, advanced degree a plus
- Strong and clear communication skills, written and verbal
- Domestic travel will be required on a regular basis (at least monthly) to meet with clients
