Senior Systems Administrator

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Systems Administrator's day to day responsibilities will involve the direct support, administration, maintenance and building of SoundBite's internal system infrastructures.  Working within the Operations group this position can touch on several key areas. From upgrading production Weblogic boxes, to configuring VMware ESX servers in a QA environment.  This position has a truly great mix of working on production issues supporting over 300 servers, as well as re-designing and improving the existing QA/Development area.  With limited supervision a part of this role is to help research software and equipment to maximize the QA resources that use this environment.   This is where you can truly make a difference by bringing your past skill and talent to help us grow this area as well as the production area.  We love new ideas here at Soundbite and we help people to get those ideas fostered and put in place.  It is just a great environment to work in and be around.  If you like what you are hearing so far, please see below for more specifics on some of the actual duties.  Areas will include:

Key Functions/Responsbilities:

• Perform Red Hat Linux based server builds and administration
• Ongoing design planning, implementation, and maintenance of our growing network infrastructure.
• Manage Vendors and service providers so that they operate effectively within the environment.
• Perform analysis of the Linux computing environment and identify methods to improve efficiency and enhance customer support
• Perform Operating System and Application Patch and Hot-Fix deployment technologies.
• Provide status reports and follow-ups to the customer about their ongoing issues.

Qualifications:

• AS/BS (CIS, CS or EE) or equivalent experience
• 5 to 7 years experience in a System Administration capacity, working with Networking and Server technical infrastructures.
• Expertise in Unix/Linux servers and operating systems as well as some basic understanding of Windows Active Directory/Operating Systems
• Basic Ethernet Internetworking knowledge

• Network Router and Switch configuration and working knowledge.
• Storage Infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
• Database Management (Oracle/MySQL)
• Weblogic
• VMware
• Red Hat clustering experience.
• Experience with Nagios, MRTG, and Cacti.
• Microsoft SFU experience.
• EMC CLARiiON experience.
